Natalie Ann Armstrong was born in 1994 in Sacramento, California. Between 2017 and 2018, she created a series of over 70 abstract expressionist oil and chalk pastel drawings evocative of paintings in their saturation, teetering between semi-abstraction and full abstraction, with jutting, crude, and (most characteristic of pastel) incredibly soft marks. The ephemeral quality of pastel is characteristic of the transience of emotions that run high alongside motifs of flowers, demonic creatures, animals, halos, and cosmological scenarios in Natalie's work. Her work has been show in galleries in San Francisco and Sacramento. Her poetry book, "American Kratom 95818: Come On In Out of the Weather Internet Party January 7, 1994" will be released by Basset Hound Press sometime this Summer. She is also currently working on a series of drawings and paintings based on video stills from Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3" music video, which was her second most listened to song in 2018.
