In a climate where the latest drama reigns supreme, Becky Bailey's work seeks to honor what is real in the lives of people drowned out by shouting on the airwaves. Through mixed-media collage and strange combinations of patterns, space, and scenes found in her life as well as the social media accounts of strangers, the work invites viewers to connect with and question the day-to-day. From the mundane to the amusing, whether a trip to Six Flags or housework, all of it can be made compelling with attention. Becky lives in the Greater NYC area. She received a B.A. in Fine Arts from UPenn in 2012 and took courses in textile design from 2015-16. Her textile design work informs her art practice which involves painting, printmaking, and collage.
