Mitsuko Brooks (b. Misawa AFB Japan) is a Los Angeles-based artist working in mail art and assemblage. She has a BFA from Cooper Union and an MFA in Painting & Drawing from UCLA. Brooks is a member of AAWAA and attended The Oxbow School. She completed artist residencies with Queens Museum’s Set on Freedom, The Wassaic Project and The Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden. Brooks was awarded Common Field’s Field Grant, The Sally Van Der Lier Fellowship and the Artists’ Fellowship, Inc. She has exhibited at Smack Mellon, Steve Turner, Makeroom LA, SFAI, CCA and SOMArts. Brooks' work is in permanent collections at Smithsonian's Archive of American Art, Artexte Information Centre, Barnard College's Library, Otis College Library, and Los Angeles Contemporary Archive.
